I finished NaNo again this year. 56k or there abouts and have a whole story. I'm rather glad of it. I know it needs edited out the wazoo, but, really, right now, I'm just glad that it's done.

This month, I have two writing goals:

- Take a writing class (waiting on the email to be sent)
- Work in Dream sequences for KoO.

Now that is going to be the big one. It's already 93k long. I do not want to add 50k to that. But 30k or so, with the dream sequences would be okay. I'm going to start tonight with the fleshing out of thoughts that need to be done.

I'm actually thinking of doing the dream POVs as the minor characters that don't get a scene in KoO. That way, they get introduced and you know who they are a little.

That may change, though.

The day is young and there are ideas percolating. I know I have to rewrite one scene to reflect the dreams a little, but that won't be too hard.

New Year, I'm really working on my writing. I mean, the goals are pretty self explanatory. And I keep them on notecards on my corkboard right above my comp. That way, I can look at them and have them drilled into my brain.

Frankly, I'm looking forward to a lot of things this month and the coming year.

For now, I'm going to go poke KoO and see what shakes loose.

I only participated in three today.

But, I did get some decent word counts in.

Let's see:
30 minutes: 1023
30 minutes: 967
30 minutes: 970

In 90 minutes of writing that's 2960. Not bad. (even if it's only 33-ish words per minute)

Tonight, there will be more word wars, since I finished the scene I had been working on. Next, I get to really move a bit more plot along, and that'll help things pick up again.

I might war tonight, but I don't think so. My brain is pretty much done for the day. I can always work on it tomorrow, and deal with things then. Tonight, I think I'd much rather watch anime.

One thing I'd like to note, though. The classes I'm taking have one, small, hitch to them. They're very geared toward romance writing. And while I'm not adverse to writing romance, and have done in the past, my current works just aren't geared toward it. They have romance "elements" but are not, really, romance stories at all.

Which, honestly, is fine. Now that I know that, I'll be taking that into consideration.

It might, actually, deter me from taking the other courses that seemed so interesting. I'm keeping an open mind though, and trying to take away what I can from the course.

Tonight, I might actually dust off my old romance writing and see about fitting it to the course.

So, in the beginning, I told you what you will and will not see.

Here's one of the things you will.

Firstly, I'm going to blather on about the writing I will be talking about.

Works in Progress )

Now, onto more general things:

Last week, I signed up for an online 'class' and tonight it started. The class list is here and the classes are conducted through Yahoo Groups. I'll, most likely, be talking about these in the weeks to come.

I hope they actually do work out, because despite being nervous to speak up and unwilling to be the first to step up, I really would like to do something with them. Plus, they just look interesting.

I'm pretty sure I had a few more things to say, but I'm running out of steam and still have RP tags to write (why yes, I do RP, and have fun with my writing, rather than just sweating bullets!) so I'd better get on them.
