So, I put up a schedule at the beginning of the month.

Tomorrow, the first begins a new month of writing. After the first of month running around, I'll be retreating to my room to do some writing. School ends on Friday, but I'm prepared for that. Kids know about The Writing Time.

I'm going to be spending tonight reading things so I can see where I want to go with each of the two that I might be working on. Both are in rewrites, but I'm actually going to go back and finish the original versions.

Or at least in theory I am. Maybe I'll work on both rewrite and original. Just to see what shakes loose.

For now, I'm going to go open Mira and Ari and see what happens. Maybe something spectacular will shake loose.

I've been very, very bad about writing lately. I haven't looked at Knights of Orion since I finished it, and to be honest, I'm terrified to. I don't want to see all of the stuff that'll jump out at me and force me to rewrite it. Again.

I just have not been motivated to write. I'm hoping that with NaNo starting in about 25 hours, I'll get the kick in the pants that I need.

I have a bad feeling that this year might be the year I fail NaNo.

I'm just not writing.

I don't know why. The stories are there, the words are there, but there's just so much other stuff to do, that I can't be bothered.

Which scares me. For those that read my other blog, they know that there are a lot of personal reasons behind that fear. I know that I can write, I just don't have the motivation to.

But, I am doing NaNo. If nothing else, it'll give me the kick in the butt to get stuff done. This is also the first year in a long time that I'm not doing KoO as a rewrite for NaNo. Which is nice.

I honestly think I've gotten to the point where if I'm not working on it, I don't know what to work on.

I have other stories to do, just that one has been with me for so long that I can't get past it.

I'm hoping NaNo can be the impetus.

Okay, I'm just repeating myself over and over. I think I'm going to go play something dull.

Time lapse

I've been very, very lapse about updating here, and can only offer excuses:

- Firstly, I moved across the state, with two kids and only my car. It was a long, hot trip and involved a lot of paperwork at this end, so that took a long time.

- Secondly, I've been job-hunting like mad. I found one, and then it left again. Now, I'm back to searching.

- Thirdly, I'm going to be moving again. Not very far (a couple buildings over), but I'm still moving, and that means time and energy going into something other than writing.

- Fourthly, because of the job search, I've been very depressed. I know it's the economic climate, but right now, I just don't know what to do about everything. I'm working on it, it's just not going very fast.

- Fifthly, we are very close to NaNo. (Writing NaNo and moving in the same time frame? Sure!) I always struggle with a huge dose of apathy right before it begins.

So, that's the reason I haven't been posting/have been scarce for a while.

Now, onto more important things, like writng.

I have been picking at world building for Mira. I think I'm actually getting somewhere, but I'm not so arrogant as to say I am.

Her story is going to be NaNo. I'm actually going to plot it through, eventually, to point out the highlights. Then, look at how it'll go for NaNo.

If anyone wants to friend me on NaNo (even though I rarely go over there...), I'm right here.

For now, I'm going to continue job looking and world building.

Up until about three hours ago - I get up early no matter if I have to or not - I was severely undecided about participating in NaNoWriMo.

But, as the fog of waking up cleared, I realised that I had several stories that could be used and needed to be worked on anyway. I'm not in the proper headplace to write just yet, but World Building! That I can do.

So, yes, I'm joining NaNo - possibly for my last year. Next year I plan on being in school. Hopefully anyway.

For now, though, I'm going to go get started on my world building, and see where that takes me.

I've been thinking lately, about returning to my old routines. I need to write, in ways I cannot explain.

But, I need a routine to do it in.

That may sound strange, but there you have it. I need a set time every day, set aside for nothing but writing.

These last few weeks have had me caught up in so much other stuff that I couldn't write.

There was too much external stuff going on.

There still is a lot of external things going on. Kids are back in school though, and that should give me time to actually work on my writing.

Frankly, I hate to be mean, but my new room mate is going to have to respect the headphones, as well as all the kids. My kids are trained to respect the headphones and know what they mean. They mean Mom Is Working.

I know my new room mate will though. She understands how important the writing is to me. And I won't totally cut myself off. We have the lounge to clean tomorrow, and then we'll see what happens. I plan on putting on my headphones on my head, with my MP3 player and seeing if that helps.

I haven't decided just who I'm going to be writing yet. But it's definitely between Ari and Mira/Hyst. I might look through tonight to see what jumps out at me.

I want to finish up a couple old ideas, before I start worrying about new ones.

See, I have some world building to do. A lot of world building. I'm going to be putting some of it up here, but a lot will be going up on my IJ, under the writing tag/group.

I'll be putting up links here, to whatever it is I use that's an online resource.

I do however want to give a good resource. See, writing doesn't mean that you have lots of money. I've been using AbeBooks to search online used book stores! C'mon used books! That's awesome.

Tomorrow, I'm returning to routine and starting to write again.

Just need to figure out who.

So, in the beginning, I told you what you will and will not see.

Here's one of the things you will.

Firstly, I'm going to blather on about the writing I will be talking about.

Works in Progress )

Now, onto more general things:

Last week, I signed up for an online 'class' and tonight it started. The class list is here and the classes are conducted through Yahoo Groups. I'll, most likely, be talking about these in the weeks to come.

I hope they actually do work out, because despite being nervous to speak up and unwilling to be the first to step up, I really would like to do something with them. Plus, they just look interesting.

I'm pretty sure I had a few more things to say, but I'm running out of steam and still have RP tags to write (why yes, I do RP, and have fun with my writing, rather than just sweating bullets!) so I'd better get on them.
